When I was a kid, I remember how
guys used to fight each other and five
minutes later, they were best friends.
I always thought that was odd.
However, compared with the Bible,
it's not so odd. Paul says in Romans
5:10, For if, when we were God's
enemies, we were reconciled to him
through the death of his Son, how
much more, having been reconciled,
shall we be saved through his life!"
We were all God's enemies before
Jesus Christ.
When Christ came and sacrificed
himself on the cross, it gave us the
opportunity to be reconciled to God.
In other words, Jesus made it possible
for us to become God's children
through the cross of Calvary.
Therefore, seeing two guys fight and
then become best friends five minutes
later is not so strange anymore after
reading the words of Paul. We used
to fight with God and still do with
our own selfish desires and other
sinful ways. But, when Jesus became
the mediator for us, he made it
possible for us to be best friends with
God again.
