The Bible - God's Word
" We believe both the Old and New Testaments to be the Word of God. Every word and thought of the original manuscripts are divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit" (Confession of Faith). A careful and honest examination of the inspiration and authority of the Holy Scriptures is elementary and basic for Bible-believing faith.

Is The Bible Truly God's Word?
The inspired authors of Scripture enjoyed the unique privilege of a direct, inerrant, and reliable communication of truth from God's heart to their hearts. When they penned their original manuscripts, they did so with the assurance that what they wrote was the literal and Undeniable Word of God. The Bible does more than contain the Word of God. It IS the Word of God. "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect throughly furnished unto all good works" (2 Timothy 3:16,17)

What Proof Do We Have That The Bible Is The Word Of God?
Internal Evidence
1. The unity of its books: Its 66 books were written by over 40 authors in different lands and over a period of more than 1,600 years. Many authors never saw the writings of others and yet there is no contradiction among them.
2. The claim of the Bible itself: Over 3,800 times, the writers claim God spoke what they wrote.
3. Its perfection: It is scientifically and historically correct in all of its statements.
4. Its adaptability: It is always up to date on any subject. It ministers to the lives of all people of all ages and in all lands.
External Evidence
1. Fulfilled prophecy: Over 3,000 verses have been fulfilled even though they were predicted hundreds and even thousands of years before their completion.
2. Transformed lives: Millions throughout the world have experienced a transformation in their lives as they accepted the gospel message of salvation through Jesus Christ.
3. Its miraculous preservation: Many through the ages have attempted in vain to destroy the Bible. It is still triumphant and indestructible. "The word of the Lord endureth forever" (1 Peter 1.25)
4. Its inexhaustible proofs: It would take many books to deal with the many thousands of facts which confirm the Bible to be the Word of God. It will confirm itself to the one who uses it wisely.

How Did The Bible Writers Know What To Write?
No Biblical writings arose from a merely human interpretation. "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost" (2 Peter 1:20, 21)

Are There Errors In The Bible Or Can I Trust What Is Written Therein?
It is unthinkable that inaccuracy and mistake can co-exist with inspiration. Both the Old and New Testaments in their original manuscripts were wholly given by God and therefore free from error in all of teaching, regardless of the subject

Is The Bible For All People?
Yes, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). The Bible reveals the way of salvation through Christ and is the true standard for faith and conduct. It contains the only hope for eternal life. It reveals the ultimate hope of the believer and the final doom of the unbeliever.

Who Is Able To Understand The Bible?
The Bible is an open book for all who willingly seek the truth. The Holy Spirit will provide illumination to the earnest seeker. No one needs to walk in darkness or ignorance. "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened" (Matthew 7:7,8).

Why Should I Study The Word Of God?
"As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby" (1 Peter 2:2). Read the Bible to be wise, believe it to be safe, and obey it to be holy. It is given to you so you might know the will of God for your life. The Bible is the only sure standard by which you can measure religious teachings and traditions. God's Word will teach you that the only means for the salvation of your soul is through the faith in Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour and Lord. You will be judged by the Bible in eternity. The Bible will endure forever.

How Am I To Respond To God's Revelation?
I am to respond to obedience with repentance towards God and faith towards the Lord Jesus Christ. "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock..." (Matthew 7:24). "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him" (John 14:23)
